I’ve already had some amazing travel experiences in 2024 but today will be hard to beat. On this occasion, the airport was a welcome part of the journey (instead of a tedious waiting game) courtesy of the Singapore Air ‘Private Room’. An enclave of exclusivity.

We always knew we wanted to go to Antarctica but having never cruised before, the decision about which ship was super important. From the moment we stepped on board Seabourn Venture, I knew we made the best choice.
She’s a PC6 polar class expedition ship with a capacity for approx. 250 passengers & a guest to staff ratio of almost 1:1.

A local friend told us there was a quiet, new place in the Ancient Town with a lovely garden and good food. We were initially sceptical but when we walked down the little laneway at 45 Phan Chu Trinh, we were greeted by an oasis of calm and smiling faces.

The leafy green calmness of Voi’s appealed to us on many occasions as we rode past so we popped in for a drink to check it out but the menu is so interesting we ended up staying for a nibble. As our first visit was early evening, we ordered avocado wedges to accompany our drinks.

Our initial destination for dinner was busy so we decided to stop at Khanh’s Kitchen for a drink and rethink our dinner plans but then I saw banana and shrimp spring rolls on the menu!

The cute entrance convinced me to go in, the clever street food menu looked impressive (Bánh xèo cups with quail eggs!) and the food did not disappoint. Fresh, tasty and presented with care.
