The leafy green calmness of Voi’s appealed to us on many occasions as we rode past so we popped in for a drink to check it out but the menu is so interesting we ended up staying for a nibble. As our first visit was early evening, we ordered avocado wedges to accompany our drinks.

A light crunchy crust on the outside gave way to a soft, warm slice of avo but they were solid enough not to fall apart. Terrific flavour and they were served with a light mayo sauce. The full dinner menu reflects the chef’s experience both domestically and abroad with options such as steak, chicken and pan fried salmon. I would describe it as a mix of traditional Vietnamese and European dishes but the styling and professionalism suggest something a little more international.

Just to confirm our initial thoughts, we returned the next morning for breakfast and enjoyed eggs benedict with salmon, baked avocado (they are in season!) with egg and bacon, and super refreshing watermelon juice. There was also a sneaky coconut coffee too (served with crunchy toasted coconut shards on the side). All were delicious.

Service is friendly and efficient, value for money is great and their commitment to the environment is also admirable.

It’s a little out of the Ancient Town but easy to find on a push bike or Grab so definitely worth the effort.
