Villa Oeno – Phnom Penh, Cambodia

We stumbled on this one as it was just up from our hotel (corner of Street 256 & Street 19). Even though this neighbourhood is fast becoming more upmarket, Villa Oeno stood out due to the modern exterior so we decided to pop in for a refreshing drink at the end of a hot day of sightseeing.

Interior decoration continues the theme of the exterior – clean lines, a bit monochromatic with pops of colour. Tables are not jam packed so the atmosphere is relaxed. Service is friendly, efficient and helpful. The drink list is broad, covering all the best options with beers available on tap or bottled. Unfortunately we didn’t eat here but we did look at the menu and if we just had a bit more time, this would have been high on our list. It was pleasing to see that there are also a number of items available for takeaway – gourmet sandwiches, jamon, cheeses, etc. Could be a good option for breakfast or lunch on the run (or on the way to the airport).
