This was my first time to Guangzhou but my husbands 5th and his 3rd time at The Leeden Hotel. He originally chose this hotel based on its affiliation with the International Import Export Fair and availability of shuttle buses. Now being familiar with the city’s transport network, the shuttle buses are no longer a high priority but The Leeden is still his preferred choice.

Being in the ‘new’ town area (business district), I found it to be well located within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shopping malls and the metro. The property would be best described as a four star business hotel. Rooms are clean, standard size with a desk and sitting area. Beds are comfortable and wifi is good. There are a few maintenance issues but nothing that really affects comfort but if there isn’t a re-fit in the near future, it will start to become a little scruffy. The thing that really sets The Leeden apart is the staff – reception, concierge, door staff, security, housekeeping and F&B. They are friendly, efficient and tremendously helpful often going out of their way to assist.  And according to my husband, many of them are familiar faces from previous visits so I guess management is doing a good job creating a supportive work environment as well.

I expect they will want to do some work on the property soon but if everything stays the same for now, I would be very happy to return to The Leeden next year.
