Secret Garden Restaurant – Otres 2, Sihanoukville, Cambodia
With so much greenery around, this could feel a little dark and moist but instead it feels relaxed and welcoming with plenty of tables inside and comfortable lounge seating outside. Staff are friendly and service is reasonably efficient however there were a couple of times when we thought they could use another body or two on the floor.
Still, their smiles were intact. The menu is very large so perfect for larger groups as there’s definitely something for everyone.
On one occasion we stopped in for a drink and added a tapas plate (marinated eggplant, chorizo, feta, etc) but that was so delicious, we later added fish tacos and ham & cheese croquettes. All were wonderful but the fish tacos were the standout for me – crisp, tender and paired with a suitably tangy mayonnaise. We returned on another occasion to sample some of the main courses and chose a Khmer red curry and also stuffed squid – both were extremely tasty.
A large wine list, draught beer and a full cocktail list ensure that every thirst is satisfied.
This is the busiest spot on Otres 2 beach and while there are other great options, Secret Garden is in no danger of losing it’s clientele anytime soon.
