Restaurant 328 – Hoi An, Vietnam
Last night’s dinner at Restaurant 328 was a terrific surprise. We were warmly welcomed, quickly made comfortable and drinks were prompt. From the road, it looks like many other restaurants on Cua Dai Street but when the food arrived it was clear that they put as much care into their cooking as their hospitality.
We started with tasty spring rolls (not terribly adventurous but they differed from other versions due to the substantial quantity of meat inside) and moved on to sautéed prawns and garlic (crisp veg, not drowning in sauce), stir fried chicken and lemongrass (tasty but the lemongrass didn’t overpower) and fish wrapped in banana leaf. Everything was delicious but the fish was easily the standout – subtly spiced, a beautifully cooked moist fillet. All dishes contained quality ingredients and generous servings. Great value for money.
328 is around the corner from our house so we were saving it for when we needed a quick dinner but now that we’ve sampled their delicious food and warm hospitality, it will definitely be on repeat.
