Reggae Fisherman Bar – Koh Samui, Thailand
I know it was only 2 months since my last review of Reggae Fisherman Bar (now on the road between Choeng Mon & Chaweng) but our latest visit provided exciting news – for me anyway… I now know how to make my favourite Tod Mun Goong (shrimp cakes) and they’re so simple!! Ruay and Chai are such friendly and welcoming hosts but I didn’t realise that Ruay is happy to share her talent.
For just 300 baht, Ruay will take you into her kitchen and show you how she makes these gems. You then get to sit down and enjoy. I’m sure mine won’t be the same meaty, tasty little cakes of golden goodness but at least I can try! If you’re interested, just avoid asking at peak time.

We’ve been fans of the Reggae Fisherman Bar for a number of years, always enjoying the friendly service, great music and terrific food/drinks. We were sceptical when they moved to the other side of the island and lost the view of the sunset but now that we’ve been, the changes are all positive. Same great food, drinks, music and friendly service but much more space and a cooler location in a lovely garden setting. Bungalows will be available for accommodation very soon. Congratulations on the changes!
