Baan Chaweng Beach Resort & Spa – Chaweng, Koh Samui, Thailand
Our first stay at Baan Chaweng Beach Resort was in 2007, we’ve stayed a number of times since then with our most recent visit being just last week and it’s pleasing to see that it’s the same now as it was 9 years ago. Our visits have been with different groups (couples, family & friends) and Baan Chaweng suits all. With many levels of accommodation to choose from, it’s easy to find a match.
Room size is generous in relation to the cost with the bungalows being spacious and the base rooms a little smaller but still well laid out. Gardens are delightful, the pool is a nice alternative to the saltwater and all public areas are well kept. The restaurant is terrific, the breakfast buffet provides a decent selection and drinks are delicious but a good selection of nibbles is also available on the beach with friendly vendors.
It’s centrally located for shopping and nightlife in the busy Chaweng strip but in just the right spot on the beach (before the lagoon starts but not too rough when the wind is up a little). There are a number of beach bars and restaurants all along the beach but noise in the resort is kept to a minimum and was only woken once by a large group leaving for an early flight. Large trees at the front of the resort provide much needed shade for most of the day but sun is still available for those who seek it. The massage service on the beach in front is one of the best I’ve had (and I’ve tried lots!)
In addition to the physical attractions at Baan Chaweng, it’s the staff who bring it all together and they do so beautifully. In all my stays, I have never come across an unpleasant staff member. In fact, they all go out of their way to be friendly and welcoming from reception to the restaurant, housekeeping, gardening and security.
Over the years we’ve recommended Baan Chaweng to many friends who have also loved it and based on our recent stay, I will continue to recommend to family
