Habarana Village by Cinnamon – Habarana, Sri Lanka
We stayed at Chaaya Village for 2 nights as a base to explore Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa – it is perfectly located for both. The bungalows are comfortable and nicely decorated, and the grounds are well kept. The restaurant was pleasant and all staff were both friendly and helpful.
The only minor hiccup for us was coming back after a long day of exploring, looking forward to a cleansing (celebratory!) ale and finding that there would be no alcohol served in the restaurants as it was a Poya day. Not the end of the world but if we had been told previously, we could have purchased outside for a quiet drink on our balcony instead. We would stay again if we were back in this area.
Stayed June 2014.
