Mix Greek Restaurant – Hoi An, Vietnam
We had a fantastic Greek feast at Mix last night. It’s in the busy centre of the ancient town but one of the quieter streets so the outlook is lovely and plenty of opportunity to watch the passing parade. The welcome was warm and friendly, staff are professional and it appears that they are a well trained and happy team.
Atmosphere is great but as good as all of that is, it’s all about the food and it’s outstanding. We chose Tirokafteria (feta, yoghurt, chilli dip), Kolokithokeftedes (zucchini balls!), Patatogiros (strips of pork with salad, tzatziki & pita with fries – also available in chicken and beef and Mousaka (pork mince, eggplant, potato & béchamel sauce). Mousaka was the only dish we had tried before (elsewhere) and this version was exceptional. As for the others, they were all new to us and each one of them was a scrumptious – light, fresh and tasty. So much so that I will face a dilemma next time ordering something different. Special mention to the dessert – wow! I don’t know what it was and I wouldn’t normally order dessert but it was a very welcome treat.
They obviously use quality ingredients so I can only imagine that all dishes on the menu achieve the same level. The platters we saw were huge! Presentation was delightful, serves are very generous and we ordered way more food than we needed but it was so delicious that we walked out feeling stuffed – our fault, not theirs!
Service is super efficient so it can be a quick meal but we didn’t feel pressured to move on and sat for a bit to finish our drinks.
Amazing food AND fantastic value for money. Ticks all the boxes for me. We will be back.
