Evason – Hua Hin, Thailand
We’ve stayed at a number of Six Senses properties and Evason Hua Hin did not disappoint. We were collected promptly from our stay in Bangkok and transferred in comfort. Upon checkin, we found the pool villa we were allocated did not receive much of a breeze (maynot be a problem at a different time of year) so upgraded to a beachfront pool villa and enjoyed the resulting sea breezes and a lovely view.
Rooms were adequately sized and the bed was comfortable. Service was pleasant, all staff members were extremely helpful. Restaurants within the resort were lovely and there are also options close by to provide variety.
I thought that there were a couple of things that needed attention from a maintenance perspective – none affected our stay but I hope that details are addressed so that the property is not allowed to deteriorate. For instance, the shower area is only external and the rolldown privacy screen between our pool and that area was missing but the hooks were all still in place. Also, we had to request attention to our private pool as it developed an unpleasant/stagnant aroma but most days it was fine.
The only real negative we found was the lack of wifi in the villa or public areas. Reliable internet can only be accessed in the Library so maintaining business contact was not possible in comfort.
Hua Hin is not our usual destination in Thailand but if we do return, we would consider Evason again.
Beachfront pool villa is worth the extra money for the breezes and the view.
