BBQ Nuong Khoi (Grill & Hotpot) – Hoi An, Vietnam
We’ve been riding past for a few weeks and thought it looked cute so we put it on our list but now I wish we had stopped in sooner. Staff are welcoming and happy to assist with recommendations if required. We opted for grilled aubergine, grilled bacon (aka pork belly) and pork in guava leaves.A little bbq was set up on one side of our little table and a wine bucket on the other. The food was delicious – wow! All were outstanding and I particularly liked the fact that they weren’t drowned in sugary sauce so you get a more natural, healthy flavour. Quality, fresh ingredients, aromatic and flavoursome, there was nothing I could fault. The whole meal was so good that it was really hard to pick a favourite on the night but if I had to, I would say the grilled bacon. The thinly sliced pork required just a little time on the bbq to give it a some crispness on the edges but it stayed moist inside and I could easily eat it every day.
Such outstanding food, cold drinks, value for money was exceptional and with such beautiful people, we will definitely be back soon and I look forward to trying the hotpot dishes.
