Two things drew us to 96 for dinner. Firstly, the riverside location is tops for people watching in the crazy centre of the old town but even better and secondly, they advertised their drinks with very fair prices (compared to most in this area) clearly displayed out front.

We snapped up a table overlooking the street and the river. Our drinks order was taken promptly by happy and friendly staff and even though we were occupying a prime table, we weren’t made to feel hurried so after a second drink, we decided to stay for dinner. The menu covers all the standard Vietnamese options plus the usual foreign standards for the unadventurous. We chose morning glory with garlic, squid with garlic and stir fried rice and vegetables (and yes, there was lots of garlic in there too!). All very satisfying and definitely value for money.

Thank you to the lovely people at 96 for a very pleasant evening. We look forward to seeing you again. And apologies for the rude travellers we saw you handle so well on the evening. Well done.
